Gandia, a 08 de març de 2021.- Molts dels drets i llibertats històriques que han conquerit les societats contemporànies, i que s’han traduït en benestar, progrés i democràcia, no hagueren sigut possibles sense la contribució i la lluita encomiable de les dones. Així, la lluita per la igualtat és una de les travessies que les dones emprengueren des de fa segles i que hui encara continuen transitant amb l’objectiu d’eliminar les barreres sistèmiques que limiten la seua participació en tots els àmbits de la vida i aconseguir, així, la igualtat real i efectiva.
La regidora delegada d’Igualtat, Diversitat i Polítiques Inclusives, Juana Navarro, ha animat a la joventut de Gandia a participar en el concurs de dibuixos i còmics GENERACIÓN IGUALDAD: !IMAGÍNALO!, una iniciativa artística de caràcter global, «creativa i atractiva per a la nostra joventut», que ha posat en marxa l’ONU Mujeres, juntament amb la Comissió Europea, Bèlgica, França, Mèxic, i en associació amb ‘Cartooning for Peace’, per a commemorar el 25é aniversari de la innovadora Declaració i Plataforma d’Acció de Beijing (1995) on es va establir un marc d’actuacions que garanteixen l’apoderament de les dones i les xiquetes a tot arreu.
Així, ha explicat Navarro, el concurs es basa a transmetre de manera visual, amb un dibuix o una il·lustració (sense paraules), «una idea sobre la igualtat de gènere i la realització dels drets de les dones per a un futur igualitari» que es base en les ’12 àrees crítiques de preocupació’ que contempla la Declaració.
